Born Madrid, 1959. In 1982 he began working as photography curator. Since 1985 until 1996 he was director of the Photography Department at the Circulo de Bellas Artes in Madrid.
He has been artistic director and founder of the International Photography Festival PHotoEspana in Madrid from 1998 to 2000.
He teaches workshops and collaborates as photography critic and essay writer for different national and international publications . At present he works as free-lance, is guest curator of Photoquai -a Biennial organized by the Museum Quai de Branly at Paris-, curator of the Festival Getxophoto and teaches at the Master of Photography of the School EFTI in Madrid. In 2006 he was awarded with the Prize Bartolome Ros for the best professional track record in photography in Spain. He is curating the special exhibition of Spanish photography at SEOUL PHOTO 2010. |

Chema Madoz
Born in Madrid, 1958. The renowned Spanish photographer , Chema Madoz has developed his unique photographic characteristics since 1980s. His works notice the everyday objects and deconsturct and reinterpret their context and froms to create a different world. He studied Art History at Universidad Complutense de Madrid and photography studies at Centro de Enseñanza de la Imagen at the same time. His first solo show was held by Real Sociedad Fotografica de Madrid in 1985. Since then, his works have been exhibited in numerous international and domestic museums and galleries . He was the first alive Spanish photographer who Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia had a retrospective exhibition . He is internationally recognized and received many awards.

David Jiménez
David Jiménez was born in Sevilla (Spain) in 1970. He studied Fine Arts in Madrid, where he currently lives and works. He has created diverse personal works that have been displayed in books and exhibitions throughout Spain and abroad. Noteworthy events in his professional career include winning the Best upcoming photographer Prize at PHotoEspana 99 and the Madrid City Arts Prize in Photography 2008, and the publication of four books: Infinito and Estos y otros lugares (Theese and other places) in 2000, Sevilla Santa Semana(Seville Holy Week) in 2003 and an antological monography in the spanish photographers Photobolsillo collection in 2009. He has exhibited his work in Madrid, Sevilla, Tenerife , Cadiz, Valencia , Santander , Rotterdam, Arles, Toulouse , Torino , Athens and Bogota, among other places. His images are present in the catalogue of numerous public and private collections in Spain. He is also teaching photography though workshops and lectures.

Gerardo Custance
Born in Madrid, 1976. He studied Documentary Photography at the University of Westminster, London , after earning a degree in Photography at the Technical University of Catalonia , Barcelona . In June 2008, he received a Plastic Arts grant from the Marcelino Botin Foundation , one of the most prestigious prizes awarded to contemporary Spanish artists. The Parisian Galerie Polaris showed his first solo exhibition in a private gallery in November 2008, and his work has been selected as a finalist at the BMW-Paris Photo Prize. Additionally , the Ministry of Culture of France and the Maison Europeenne de la Photographie are showing his works as a part of their collections . Since completing his studies, Gerardo Custance has participated in many group exhibitions , museum publications , and has earned several prizes and grants, all while becoming the youngest up-and-coming neo-documentary photographer in Spain.

Jordi Bernadó
Born in Lleida 1966. He currently lives and works in Barcelona . Jordi Bernadó is interested in photography as a way to conceive the city, the architecture and the urban layout and understands the photographic discipline as a way of knowledge . Jordi Bernadó’s photographs have been acquired for major public and private collections . They have also been shown in many solo and collective exhibitions in Spain and abroad. He won the Fotopress scholarship in 1993 and he was granted by Beca Endesa X in 2007. He has published more than 20 books focusing on contemporary architecture and landscape . Many of his books won awards from Laus award, Photoespaña and etc.

Juan Manuel Castro Prieto
Born in Madrid in 1958. Economics graduate. He never actually practised professionally . His links with photography go back to 1977, and like most members of his generation he was self-taught. At the beginning of the eighties he joined the Real Sociedad Fotografica de Madrid, where he met Gerardo Vielba , Gabriel Cuallado , Paco Gomez and Juan Dolcet. After years of practice, he decided to take up photographic printing professionally and opened his own laboratory in Madrid. Most significant projects are 》Peru, viaje al Sol《, 》Extranos《, 》Esperando al Cargo《, 》Cuenca en la Mirada《, 》Musee D'Orsay《, 》Etiopia《, 》La Seda Rota《. His work has been exhibited in The United States, Peru, France, Belgium, Italy, Japan, Morocco, Mexico, Guatemala, Bolivia, and Spain. His work has been published in many newspapers and magazines such as Le Monde, GEO, National Geographic , Mare, El Pais, Newsweek , Liberation , La Republica , Eyeamazing , etc...

Manel Esclusa
Born in Vic, Barcelona , 1952. He lives and works in Barcelona . He started photography in his father’s studio at the age of eight. He studied at the Escola de Maestria Industrial in Vic. He worked with his father from 1966 to 1972. In 1974 he received a grant from the Castellbach Arts Endowment allowing him to attend the Stages Stages Internationaux de la Photographie in Arles, France, where he had the chance to form under the tutelage of Ansel Adams, Neal White, Arthur Trees, Ian Dieuzaide , Denis Briat and Lucien Clergue . He has had many international exhibitions and many of his works are part of international public and private collections .

Pablo Genovés
Born in Madrid, 1959. Pablo Genovés is a distinguishing figure in Spanish contemporary photography .
He currently lives and works in Madrid and Berlin. He works seems to inquire into the signs of memory, the boundary of reality and dream. The artistic media which includes digital elements plays an essential part of his speech. He has created four series of works, Extravíos (1995-99), Sucedáneos (1999-2003), Viaje Interior (2004-2008) Precipitados (2008-2009). He has exhibited in Spain, Germany, England , Argentina, the USA and many internatinal galleries and museums. His recent solo show was held in Galería Estiarte(Madrid, 2009). His works are part of many international collection .

Valentín Vallhonrat
Born in Madrid, 1965. He criticize the models of reality constructed by culture through his works such as Sueño de animal , Cristal oscuro, Room for love, Anónimos and Las caras del amor. His book published by La Fabrica with foreword by Santiago B. Olmo collects his photographs from 1989 to 2000, which illustrated the horror of comtemporary life, stereotypes and prototypes of beauty, passion, love. His works were shown in numerous exhibitions . The recent solo exhibition was in Galeria Trayecto, Victoria. His works are part of major collections in Spain and abroad.

Vari Caramés
Born in La Coruña, 1953. He started taking photographs at the age of 15 when his father offered him a completely manual voigtlander camera. He turns his ordinary subjects into something extraordinary and tries to suggest, to evoke and to make the audience dream with his ethereal, nostalgic and mysterious images. Since the 1980’s, Caramés has realized numerous exhibitions nationally in Spain, and has since, shown his work in a multitude of countries including France, Argentina, Australia and Denmark . He holds many prizes in photography , again , internationally .

Victoria Diehl
Born in La Coruña, 1978. She received her diploma of Advanced Studies in Photography at Universidad de Vigo. As an emerging photographer , she has participated in international exhibitions and had solo exhibitions in Vigo, Vienna , Milan, Rome, and Santiago de Compostela . She was awarded by Academia de España in Roma and various prizes such as Generación Caja Madrid, Injuve, BMW, Parlamento de la Rioja and Unión Fenosa. Her works are part of many public and private collections . She published Vida e Morte Das Estatuas(CEF, Vigo, 2003) and El Cuerpo Vulnerable (Dardo, Santiago de Compostela , 2008)
